It's that time of the year again when Hollywood's A-list gather to celebrate the best of the best at the Oscars. But who says you have to be in Tinseltown to soak in the excitement? With a little creativity you can host an epic Oscar party right in the comfort of your own home. Let's roll out the red carpet and see what it takes to throw a DIY Oscar get-together.


First things first, make sure you’re dressed in a fancy outfit, and don’t forget to encourage your guests to do the same. There’s nothing more fun than a full-length gown for women or a festive sequined jacket for men. Create your own VIP entrance by rolling out a plush red carpet leading up to your front door, giving your guests the full celebrity treatment as they make their grand entrance at your home. 



Now, onto the main event, let's set the stage for an evening of star-studded elegance. Transform your living room into a scene straight out of the Dolby Theatre with movie themed decorations. Start by infusing authenticity to the space by placing Oscar themed decor scattered throughout. Position Academy Awards around for that classic Hollywood touch. Add a photo backdrop complete with plenty of props like feather boas, oversized bougie sunglasses, and of course, a gold statuette. Enjoy watching your guests strike dramatic poses for the faux paparazzi. 



As for seating, opt for chic black and gold sequin throw pillows to really make your seating area shine. Choose the area around the TV as your focal point, and style it with everything you’ll need for the evening so you won’t have to miss any of the action. Set up a portable bar cart nearby, full stocked for easy refills, and place bowls of snacks and popcorn within reach of the seating area.
